(Monte Vista)
I moved to the San Luis Valley from a suburb of Chicago in the 1970's and fell in love with the west.
I had a love for horses and began my career as a ranch hand riding the range on a cattle ranch. I later went to horseshoeing school in Texas only to move back to the San Luis Valley.
Except for the spring when the wind blows, you just can't beat the weather here. It does get cold in the winter but it is nearly always sunny.
I love the lifestyle which is simplified from the suburban life I had growing up. I enjoy taking horse back trips to the surrounding mountains during the summer when I have the opportunity.
I like the fact that people are still courteous to one another. The Valley, what can I say, just a great place to live or to visit.
